Joining your world · Bedrock (beta)
Join on Minecraft
Bedrock.
Bedrock is the Minecraft on phones, tablets, consoles and the Windows Microsoft Store. Bedrock players can join a Cubelings world and play alongside friends on Java. This is in beta, so tell us when something looks wrong.
- Works on iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows.
- Not on Xbox, PlayStation or Switch yet. Consoles cannot add your own server address without workarounds we do not support.
- The world owner must first add your Xbox gamertag in the dashboard, under Bedrock players. The gamertag is confirmed the first time you join.
- You need the Bedrock address from the dashboard. The port is always 19132.
Once on each device
Add your world and join
Bedrock does not need a special version: keep Minecraft up to date from your app store. After a big Minecraft update it can take a few days before the newest version can join.

Sign in with a Microsoft account
Open Minecraft. Bedrock needs a signed-in Microsoft (Xbox) account to join servers. If the title screen has a Sign In button, use it. The gamertag that appears is the name the world owner adds in the dashboard.

Fill in the name, address and port
Server Name is only for you. For Server Address, type the address shown under Bedrock players in your Cubelings dashboard. It ends in .worlds.cubelings.com, the same as the Java address. Leave Port as 19132. Select Save.

Select your world, then Join Server
Your world is now under Additional Servers. Select it, then Join Server.
Your world sleeps when nobody is playing. If the first try says it cannot connect, wait a minute and join again, because that first try started waking it.

Accept the world’s resource pack
Your world sends a small resource pack that gives inventions their own look. When Minecraft asks, accept it. A brand-new invention gets its look the next time you join.

You are in
Open chat with the chat button at the top of the screen (or T on a keyboard) and say hello to Cog. Java and Bedrock players see each other and play in the same world.

What is different on Bedrock
Small differences
- Names start with a dot. Inside the world, a Bedrock player’s name has a dot in front, and spaces become underscores, so “Kid Two” shows as .Kid_Two. That is how Java and Bedrock players with the same name are kept apart. Cog hears and answers Bedrock players the same way as Java players.
- Typed commands instead of links. Where Java players get a link to click in chat, Bedrock players are shown the command to type.
- New inventions appear after a rejoin. Bedrock only loads a world’s resource pack when you join, so a brand-new invention shows its own look once you leave and join again.
- Children’s accounts. If Minecraft says multiplayer or chat is not allowed, the Microsoft account’s settings need changing. How to allow it.
- Everything else is on the troubleshooting list.
